Camille Brasselet is a French photographer born in 1997. After the FineArts Academy in Brittany in 2015 where she experiment painting, drawing, but mainly photography, she continues with photography studies in Lyon. She now works between Paris and Lyon.

Her work navigates around the body and the figure, mixing at once pictural references and a certain form of uncanny. Her photographic approach try to grasp the medium with differents visual and plastic perspectives, revolving around the images’s world and their representations. « This figuration suggests an off-screen, a mystery which becomes the imaginary’s flesh.Like an ajar door leading to an other, it’s a fragment of time which becomes the expression of a whole alway held back. It’s essentially what escapes us, this flaw that cannot be defined and wich is beyond our understanding that attracts my curiosity. »

She then showed her work in France like in Arles or also in the Maison des Arts Plastiques but also in Italy at the Palazzo Bonaguro during the Biennale di Fotografia di Bassano and in Russia at the Fedini Gallery in Moscow. In 2020 she is part of the three Fotofever Prize laureates highlighting young contemporary photography’s work. She is finalist for the 26th edition of HSBC prize for photography. She realized her first book The Sound of Silence with Editions Bessard, in 2021. Subsequently, she will get le19M Prize for arts and crafts photography as part of the Picto Prize of Fashion Photography 2022 and realized a collaboration with the Maison GOOSSENS which has been exhibited at the MUCEM in Marseille in 2024.
